A video of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma driving a bulldozer on the seized drugs is going viral over the internet. It can be seen in the video that the CM is destroying the sheets of drugs with a bulldozer. After this action Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that, “I know that drugs are supplied from Assam to many parts of India, so it is my national duty to cut off the production and supply line of drugs.”
The BJP government of the state is making a lot of efforts to smuggle drugs and break the chain in the Northeast. Police have also been instructed to take decisive steps to eradicate this problem from the root.
Especially, after the instructions given by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the Director Generals of Police in this regard, the anti-drug campaign is also witnessing a spurt. At the same time, earlier CM Sarma had also given a strong message to the drug dealers, saying, ‘As Chief Minister, I have given full freedom to the police to take strict steps under the legal provisions.’
