People in the United Arab Emirates are battling a severe heat these days. The heat is getting so much that the mercury has reached 120 degrees Fahrenheit i.e. about 50 degrees Celsius. The people of UAE, who were burning in such scorching heat, were desperately longing for rain. With no chance of rain, the administration itself decided to make artificial rain.

The United Arab Emirates Meteorological Department on Sunday released a video of heavy rain in many parts of the country including Dubai, according to a report in the Independent, which is being told that it was part of a cloud seeding operation to make it rain. On an average, only four inches of rain can be made in this mission.

The current system being used to deliver the electric shock of clouds is being pioneered by researchers at the University of Reading in England. Professor Maarten Anbaum, who worked on the project, told the BBC in March that the UAE has enough clouds to create favorable conditions for rain.
