The day of the launch of Ola Electric Scooter is not far away. Ola CEO Bhavish Agarwal on Tuesday announced the launch date of the company’s much-awaited electric scooter in the Indian market. The Ola electric scooter will make its official debut on August 15. The price of Ola’s first electric scooter is likely to be revealed on the same day. Bookings for the electric scooter were started in late July. And the cab aggregator-turned-electric vehicle maker claims that it has received an overwhelming response.
Bhavish Agarwal in a tweet on Tuesday morning confirmed the launch date of the Ola electric scooter. He also said that along with the availability dates of the scooter, its complete specifications and details will also be shared.
The scooter, which is making headlines even before its launch, is being booked by paying a token amount of just Rs 499. Its booking was started from the evening of 15 July. According to Ola, within the first twenty-four hours of the start of booking, the company got more than one lakh pre-bookings for this. The company says that the booking amount is fully refundable. That is, if the customer wants to cancel his booking later, then his entire money will be refunded. Speculation is rife that the Ola electric scooter may cost less than Rs 1 lakh and state subsidies may make it even more affordable.
