After bringing in unprecedented transparency in wheat procurement, the Yogi government has taken a big step to make paddy procurement transparent in the state.
The government has provided for the registration link to farmers from Wednesday for the paddy purchase season starting from October 1 in western Uttar Pradesh and November 1 in eastern Uttar Pradesh. It has been made mandatory to provide mobile number linked in Aadhaar for registration.
The farmers who have to participate in the process of procurement of paddy at Minimum Support Price (MSP) may get their Adhar-linked mobile number registered with any common service center.
The government has made a new paddy procurement policy to ensure that every farmer gets right price of his produce. Work has also started on the policy made on the guidelines of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Paddy registration was to start from August 16, but due to necessary updation, the mandatory OTP based registration gets underway from Wednesday i.e September one. The OTP will be sent for registration only 3 times in 24 hours. Its validity will be for 10 minutes only.
Farmers will no longer be required to fill the bank details at the time of registration, but the payment will be sent to the Aadhaar linked bank account. At present, the officers are preparing to increase the number of paddy purchase centers, ensure that farmers find purchase centres near to their fields and also receive all the facilities including immediate payment of paddy.
In this regard, Farmers are asked to kindly register themselves. If Aadhaar is not linked with mobile then link it immediately.
