Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi sells 2 million smartphones in the first wave of festive sales

Xiaomi India has announced that it has sold over 2 million smartphones in just 5 days of the festive season sale. The number has been recorded from across the sales where Xiaomi is currently retailing its smartphones at a discount. These include Xiaomi’s own Diwali With Mi sale, Amazon’s Great Indian Shopping Festival, Flipkart’s The Big Billion Days sale as well as discounts being offered on offline channels.

In addition to reaching the 2 million unit sales milestone, the company also recorded a 10 times growth in its premium segment smartphones in comparison to the sales in the same period last year. Xiaomi identifies the premium smartphone segment as devices having a price tag of greater than Rs 20,000.

An insight into this sales figure shows that the newly launched Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G as well as smartphones belonging to the Mi 11X series received maximum demand in the premium segment. The demand for these was followed by the demand for more affordable smartphones like Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi 9 series.

Xiaomi has achieved the 2 million sale mark through a range of deals that are currently ongoing on several of its smartphones. These deals offer instant discounts on Xiaomi devices, along with cashback, bank offers, exchange offers as well as no-cost EMI options. In addition, the company has also put up hourly deals on its official India website. There are bundled offers and discounts through quiz for consumers to get their hands on their favourite smartphone from the house of Xiaomi.

Other than smartphones, the Diwali With Mi sale also offers deals on Xiaomi smart TVs and Xiaomi ecosystem products. For instance, both Redmi and Mi Smart TVs will be available at discounted prices during the sale. Redmi Smart TV 32-inch and 43-inch will be available at a special Diwali discount of up to Rs 3,500. The TVs will start retailing at Rs 13,249 and Rs 22,749 respectively. Similarly, Mi Robot Vacuum Mop-P will be available with a discount of Rs 5,000 and will sell for Rs 18,749.
