However, according to a report by Fox 59, Brandt was fired from her job after that. Brandt said the restaurant asked her to share the tip with her co-workers, something she said had never happened in the three-and-a-half years she worked at Oven and Tap.

After that, she was laid off, leaving her with no means to make a living.

Ryan Brandt was fired from her job at the restaurant after receiving the hefty tip.

“It was devastating; I borrowed a significant amount for student loans. Most of them were turned off because of the pandemic but they’re turning back on in January and that’s a harsh reality,” Brandt was quoted as saying.

Ryan also added that the restaurant told her that she was let go because she violated the policy by telling Grant Wise about pooling the tips.

According to Fox 59, Grant Wise has started an online fundraising campaign to help Ryan Brandt out.
