Uttar Pradesh is likely to reel under severe cold wave conditions due to the icy winds coming from the mountains.
According to the meteorological department (MeT), there is no hope of relief from the cold for the next four days. Even today [Friday], the cold day condition will continue to affect,” the MeT said.
Severe winter is expected till January 31, 2022, and the cold is expected to be at its peak in the coming days. The temperature is expected to drop by about 5 degrees.
Fog and cold waves are likely to continue in Uttar Pradesh districts such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut and the western part of Uttar Pradesh.
The meteorologist said another round of cold is about to start again. The severe cold will continue for the next four to five days.
Moreover, a yellow alert has been issued, even as in many districts, the temperature can drop to 3 degrees.
The MeT said the icy winds of the mountains are showing an effect in the plains at a speed of four to five kilometres per hour.
Due to this, along with the cold wave, temperature has started dropping in the night and in the morning, there is fog around the rivers areas, the MeT said.
The meteorologist said that there is no chance of rain in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and North India including Uttar Pradesh till February 2.
