Royal Enfield Scram 411 India launch scheduled in March

Royal Enfield has confirmed that the new Scram 411 will be launched in the Indian market in March 2022. The new model from the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker will be based on the Himalayan adventure-tourer, however, it will pack slightly different hardware and styling cues. Spy images and leaked documents have revealed most of the details.

The new Royal Enfield Scram 411 will pack styling elements such as a body-coloured cast metal headlamp cowl, a badge plate with branding on the fuel tank, an off-set speedometer with Tripper navigation function, a single-piece seat, and Scram 411 branding on the side panel. The Scram 411 rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels that are shod in tube-type tyres.

The hardware on the Scram 411 comprises telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back to handle the suspension tasks. The braking duties are handled by single discs on both wheels while the safety net comprises dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle will be powered by a 411cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the Royal Enfield Himalayan.  We expect the Scram 411 to make the same 24.3bhp at 6,500rpm and 32Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm as the Himalayan.

The new Scram 411 will compete against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler, Honda CB350RS, and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 in the Indian market. We expect this model to retail at a slightly lower price tag than the Himalayan.
