Alt Balaji and MX Player’s reality show Lock Upp, which is hosted by Kangana Ranaut, has started from February 27. The show has16 celebrity contestants who will be ‘locked up’ in jail for 72 days.
Every contestant is controversial in one way or another, and that is what landed them the gig in the show and what the makers are banking on for the show’s success.

The format of the show appears to be something similar to Bigg Boss, in that the participants are confined to a space for several weeks but here they will have to share their deepest and darkest secrets to survive.

In the show, Model-controversy queen Poonam Pandey has also participated. In the show, she recently  opened up on her troubled marriage and about lodging a complaint against her estranged husband, filmmaker Sam Bombay, for assault, the actress stated that having a troubled marriage was ‘unfortunate’.

She shared a few details about her life and shared that Sam was too controlling and would not allow her to stay alone in any room or use her phone in the house.

The conversation started when Karanvir Bohra quizzed Poonam if she really loved him? The  model  then went on to reveal her ordeal and how he once beat her so much that it caused her brain hemorrhage. She also spoke about his drinking habits, that Sam used to drink from the morning and by night he used to lose consciousness. Pandey also shared her deep feelings that, ‘he always wanted me to be with him every single time, many a times Sam used to raise his hands on me  and tortured me.’

The other co-contestant Payal Rohatgi, was also a part of the conversation, she asked Poonam, why did he used to beat you, was he insecure? Pandey wanted to end up the conversation, but she replied  “Insecure, I don’t want to talk about anyone else right now. If a person starts drinking from morning 10 am, till night and in the night there would be nobody around to save us. The staff would get scared, they would leave.”

Pandey became popular through her social media accounts, including Twitter when she started posting her semi- nude photos. Her revealing photos have received much media attention. In 2013, she played the female lead of the film Nasha, playing a teacher who ends up having a sexual relationship with one of her students.
