As the battle in Ukraine intensifies, the war of words between world leaders too is picking up steam. Former Russian President and the deputy chair of Russia’s security council Dmitry Medvedev had some stern words for France’s finance minister.
Taking to Twitter, Medvedev wrote: “Today, some French minister has said that they declared an economic war on Russia. Watch your tongue, gentlemen! And don’t forget that in human history, economic wars quite often turned into real ones.”
The Russian minister’s comment was a response to a statement made by French finance minister Bruno Le Maire during an interview to a French television. Le Maire said, “We will bring about the collapse of the Russian economy,” BBC news quoted him as saying.
