Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s latest release The Kashmiri Files is breaking several records at the box office. Everyone is praising the film for its heart-wrenching storyline and powerful performances. While the filmmaker is currently getting huge appreciation for making the film based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, there were times when his name was associated with several controversies as well.
Back in 2018, former Miss India Universe and actress Tanushree Dutta had accused Vivek Agnihotri of harassment. She narrated an incident during the shooting of her 2005 film Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets.
Recalling the incident, the Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress had said that her co-star, late Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, had to give a facial expression and the director was supposed to take his close-up shot.
As quoted by an India Today report, Tanushree narrated, “I was wearing a towel on my costume and standing behind the camera. This guy (Vivek Agnihotri) wanted me to give cues to an actor (Irrfan). It was an actor’s close-up. It was not even my shot. I was not even going to be in the shot. It was the actor’s close-up and he had to just look at something and give expressions. This director, he told me, ‘Jao jaake kapde utaar ke naacho, usko cues do,'” she narrated.
