Dedicated Pink Themed Park to be Developed in Lucknow under ‘Mission Shakti’ initiative

Lucknow: In a bid to support women empowerment, Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will re-develop Butler Park outside Baradari as Veerangna Park. The park will be totally renovated with pink color selected as a theme.
According to LDA  officials, the renovated park will boast facilities like medicinal plant garden, kids zone, butterfly corner and even a dedicated place for mothers to breastfeed their newly born kids. Apart from that, the benches and outside walls of the park will be repainted in pink color.
The development authority has set itself a budget of Rs 25 lakhs for conducting the renovation work. LDA executive engineer Kamaljeet Singh said, “We are trying our best to complete the project within first week of June. However, we are facing some difficulties in finding workers due to Covid-19 situation.”
The development authority is conducting the project under the banner of ‘Mission Shakti’ an initiative launched by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath  in October 2019 to empower and  ensure safety of women in the state. The project was initiated by district magistrate and acting vice chairman of LDA Abhishek Prakash.
