Realme has finally confirmed that there is indeed a “Pro” phone in the making, although without giving away additional details such as its official name or the launch date. But if you connect the dots considering the erstwhile rumours, Realme is hinting at the GT 2 Pro. And besides the confirmation from the horse’s mouth, the unofficial renders of the Realme GT 2 Pro have emerged.
91Mobiles, in collaboration with tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer aka OnLeaks, has shared the first look of the Realme GT 2 Pro. The upcoming smartphone brings back the Google Nexus 6P-like design. There is a raised visor on the back that houses all the cameras lined-up horizontally along with the LED flashlight. It is an interesting design detour for Realme that has, so far, clinged to vertical camera stacks on its smartphones. The Nexus 6P was one of the most talked-about phones, not only in terms of its photography skills, but also for having the odd yet appealing design. Realme seems to have taken a leaf out of Google’s book here.
Realme GT 2 Pro may come in green and white colours at least, according to the renders. These colours are muted rather than being flashy, something Realme phones are known for. There is also nothing inscribed except for the brand’s name on the back, which is a good thing because Realme may finally be saying goodbye to its “Dare to Leap” motto. The report said the back of the phone may use ceramic while the frame may be made of metal. All that gives it the premium look.
The render image also shows some details about the rear camera of the Realme GT 2 Pro. The main camera may be a 50-megapixel sensor with GR lens, which belongs to Ricoh Imaging and is used in the world’s smallest camera body. The maker of the GR lens claims that the CMOS sensor used is equivalent to a DSLR. That may be true for the digital camera, but whether Realme will be able to bring that kind of quality to its smartphone is not clear at the moment.
Although the front side of the Realme GT 2 Pro still remains a mystery, the report predicts there may be a punch-hole setup. Previous rumours have said the flat display may be 6.8-inches in size and feature a WQHD+ resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The rest of the specifications rumoured so far include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
Realme has yet to confirm the specifications of the Realme GT 2 Pro. However, it did say the phone would mark the starting point for the brand’s journey into the high-end global market. The report also mentioned that the Realme GT 2 Pro would arrive sometime in Q1 2022 in India, so maybe the launch in China will happen prior.
