Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is celebrating his 40th birthday today and wishes have been pouring in for the superstar on social media with Sachin Tendulkar leading the way.
Yuvraj Singh made his international debut in an ODI match against Kenya in October 2000, went on to play 304 ODIs, 40 Tests, and 58 T20Is for the side.
Yuvraj Singh was part of India’s 2007 T20I World Cup-winning campaign and 2011 ODI World Cup-winning campaign.
The southpaw played a crucial role in India’s 2011 World Cup triumph. Yuvraj was declared as the player of the match for his brilliant all-round display throughout the tournament. He was a key player for India, when the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team won the inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Yuvraj hit six sixes in an over against England in the same tournament.
The battle with cancer soon after the 2011 World Cup triumph was perhaps the biggest challenge that he encountered.
