An FIR has been registered in the murder of 23-year-old Harsha, a Bajrang Dal activist, in Dodapetta police station, Shivamogga. The FIR was registered based on the complaint given by Harsha’s father.
Harsha was a Bajrang Dal worker for the last five years and he was hacked to death on Sunday, February 20. He was involved in activism against cow slaughtering, and his father alleged that many Muslim youths did not like him.
Harsha allegedly received threats from Muslims in the nearby area, warning him of dire consequences. Muslim youths in MKK Road (Adil & Pathan), KR puram road and RL Nagar kept threatening Harsha with dire consequences.
“On February 20, he left home around 8 pm saying he was going for dinner at a hotel. At 9.30 I got a call that some Muslim miscreants had attacked Harsha on NT road near Kamat petrol bunk with lethal weapons,” said his father.
Harsha was lying in a pool of blood in the hospital when his father and sister arrived. His father alleged, “Muslim miscreants had a problem with him as he was a Bajarang Dal worker. They have murdered him.”
