IPL 2022: Five wicketkeepers who can come in as replacement signings

4. Ben McDermott

Australian batter Ben McDermott also went unsold at the IPL 2022 mega auction. The right-handed batter had placed himself at a base price of INR 50. However, no franchise showed interest to pick the wicketkeeper batter. McDermott was in great form during the 2021-22 Big Bash League. Representing the Hobart Hurricanes, the batter scored heaps of runs, including back-to-back centuries.

Talking about his T20 career, the 27-year old has played 93 matches amassing 2,386 runs at a strike rate of 132. The batter has 11 fifties and three centuries under his name in the shortest format of the game. The hard hitting opener has blasted more than 100 sixes in his T20 career.

Looking at his form in the recently conducted BBL, several franchises might be tempted to rope him in as a replacement if they require a wicketkeeper batter. The right-handed batter can open the innings for his franchise and has the capability to up the ante at any point of the match.
