Lucknow Municipal Corporation starts two days massive sanitization drive in the city

Lucknow: About 609 slum areas in the city will be sanitized by Lucknow Municipal Corporation using sodium hypochlorite in its two day sanitization drive starting on Saturday.
On Saturday, around 315 slum areas in 59 wards of the city including Gomtinagar, Gomtinagar Extension, Tedhipulia, Munshipulia, Daliganj, Kursi  Road, Balaganj, Ganeshganj, Golaganj, Rajajipuram, and Jankipuram among other areas. The remaining slum areas in 51 wards will be sanitized on Sunday.
According to LMC officials, the civic body has deployed around 3,000 sanitary workers to conduct the sanitization work. Municipal corporation is using around 80 tractor mounted sanitizing machines apart from 350 back mounted machines and 3 anti-smog machines.
After the directives given by Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon a day before, the civic body started its drive near Samta Mulak Chauraha at 9:30 AM on Sunday. The drive was headed by Lucknow divisional commissioner Ranjan Kumar along with municipal commissioner Ajay Dwivedi and additional municipal commissioner Archana Dwivedi.
Additional municipal commissioner Archana Dwivedi said, “Apart from sanitization, we have directed the respective officials to make people aware about the covid situation in the city and keep their surroundings clean. The drive will continue on Sunday as well to cover the remaining areas.”
