The fifth-generation Honda City has received a price hike of Rs 10,000. The prices of all but the entry-level variant of the mid-size sedan have gone up. While the City was earlier priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 14.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is now available in the range of Rs 11 lakh and Rs 14.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Launched in India in July 2020, the fifth-gen Honda City has a couple of engine options — 1.5-litre i-VTEC DOHC petrol (121PS of maximum power and 145Nm of peak torque) and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel (100PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque). Both the motors have a standard 6-speed MT. The petrol mill has an optional 7-speed CVT automatic as well.

Among the rivals of the fifth-gen Honda City are the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Vento. The City’s sales had declined a massive 67.71 per cent to 815 units in March 2021 from 2,524 units in February 2021
