Jaguar Land Rover India today launched the new Land Rover Discovery in the country at a starting price of Rs 88.06 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The 2021 Discovery not only comes with updated exteriors and interiors but also new straight-six Ingenium petrol and diesel engines.
The 2021 Land Rover Discovery gets new signature LED headlights with DRLs and LED taillights. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned. The LED taillights are joined by a new Gloss Black panel with the DISCOVERY moniker prominently placed on it. Overall, the SUV looks quite butch and is sure to offer an impressive road presence.
The cabin of the new Discovery features a redesigned centre console with a new 11.4-inch full HD touchscreen, which is nearly 48 per cent larger than the one found in the outgoing model. There is a new 12.3-inch interactive driver display, which can be configured to show a pair of conventional dials, full-screen 3D navigation guidance or a combination of the two. The SUV is equipped with Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment and SOTA technology. It also gets cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 air filtration technology and Land Rover’s Click and Go tablet holders.
The new Land Rover Discovery is available in the full-size seven-seat arrangement with Intelligent Seat Fold technology for configuring the seating layout using the central touchscreen. The seats in the second row have been redesigned. Land Rover’s second-generation Activity Key is offered with the 2021 Discovery. The buyers can opt for a hands-free gesture-controlled tailgate as well.
The 2021 Land Rover Discovery has three Ingenium engine options — 2.0-litre four-cylinder P300 petrol (296hp of maximum power and 400Nm of peak torque), 3.0-litre six-cylinder P360 petrol (355hp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque) and 3.0-litre six-cylinder D300 diesel (296hp of maximum power and 650Nm of peak torque).
