Nokia Mobile is teasing the launch of its rugged phone set for July 27. While HMD Global has not said what this phone is going to be, the Nokia Community Forum website has given us the first look at the phone. Strongly hinted to be the Nokia XR20, the upcoming phone from HMD is going to come with a waterproof body, an important part of ruggedness for smartphones. The banner shows this Nokia phone will come in a blue colour.

The Nokia XR20, which this phone is believed to be, is expected to be a slightly better version of the Nokia X20 that HMD launched earlier this year. The upgrades to the Nokia X20 are coming in the form of ruggedness. Before putting up a banner to confirm the waterproofing capabilities of the upcoming Nokia phone, HMD Global posted a teaser that said that this phone will not need a mobile cover. The phone is likely to come with an IP68 certification, something that has been absent on Nokia smartphones except for the Nokia 9 PureView flagship that has an IP67 certification.

The banner on the Nokia Mobile Community Forum’s website, spotted by LoveNokia, confirms there is going to be a blue colourway for the Nokia XR20, but we can expect more options. The phone in the banner has a USB-C port, a speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There also seems to be a cutout for attaching a lanyard to the phone, because the kind of people for whom this phone is meant for often like hanging their phone around their neck. The power button is on the left side of the phone.

HMD has not said anything about specifications, but the rumour mill suggests the Nokia XR20 is going to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor that also powers the Nokia X20 and the Nokia X10 phones. This phone may come with a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD with a notch, a setup of 48-megapixel quadruple cameras on the back, and a 5000mAh battery. The phone may support fast charging, as well. Since the Nokia X20 comes with a promise of three years of Android version upgrades, the Nokia XR20 is likely to get the same treatment from HMD Global.

Whether this phone is the Nokia XR20 or not is something we will find out on the launch day, which is July 27. HMD will hold an online event for the launch.
