The popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is set to introduce its newest mid-range smartphone in the Nord series, the Nord CE (Core Edition) 5G, in India on June 10 during a virtual event. However, just days before the launch, several specifications of the OnePlus Nord have been leaked.
The OnePlus Nord Core Edition is assumed to be the successor to OnePlus Nord. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G Processor powers the smartphone, and a triple-lens camera is set up on the back. The Snapdragon 750G is an octa-core chipset based on the Adreno 619 GPU.
OnePlus Nord, via a post on its account, has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be equipped with a triple rear camera setup that will include a 64-megapixel primary sensor, followed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, it is said to house a 16-megapixel camera at the front.
One of the crucial features missing in the original OnePlus Nord was the headphone jack, which will be available in the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. The device will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be available in two storage variants, 6GB Ram and 64 GB internal storage, and 8GB Ram and 128 GB internal storage. LPDDR5 RAM with Ufs.2.12s type will improve the performance of the phone. It will have a 6.43 inches Super AMOLED display with an inbuilt fingerprint scanner.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5G will pack a 4,500mAh battery which is more efficient than the original Nord battery. It will also have support for Warp Charge 30T fast-charging technology. It will run on Android 11 based OxygenOS 11.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the Nord smartphones are a good way for consumers to get a great and fast smartphone experience at a more affordable price. “Our flagship phones (like OnePlus 9 Pro) will push the new boundaries while the Nord series brings to users the fast and smooth experience that OnePlus offers,” he said. “The Nord CE has all the core features that are characteristic of the Nord series.”
The OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be launched on June 10, Thursday, alongside the much-anticipated OnePlus TV U-series models. The upcoming OnePlus TV will come with HDR 10+, HLG, and MEMC support. The displays will have a high refresh rate of 60Hz, 30W speakers with Dolby Audio, co-tuned with Dynaudio. The upcoming Smart TVs by OnePlus will run on Android TV 10 and will have Google Assistant support with Smart Voice Control.
The OnePlus Nord CE 5G 8GB RAM variant likely to cost $340. In India, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G prices might be around Rs 20,000to Rs 25,000 as the first Nord was approximately Rs 24,999.
