A few days back, an embarrassing incident came to light in the cricket world in which former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan was seen misbehaving with the umpire. In a match in the Dhaka Premier League, Shakib lost his cool while expressing displeasure against umpire Mahmudullah’s decision and kicked the wickets aggressively. Hurt by this incident, the TV umpire has decided to never officiate.

Shakib was bowling to the opposition batsman Mushfiqur Rahim while playing for Mohammadan Sporting Club during Bangladesh’s domestic league Dhaka Premier League a few days ago. A ball hit Rahim’s pad and he appealed for LBW, which was rejected by the umpire. Expressing displeasure over this decision, he first kicked the wicket and made the umpire bad. Not only this, he also uprooted the stump and threw it. After this incident, action was taken on Shakib on behalf of the board and he also apologized to the umpire as well as all the fans.

The TV umpire of that match has decided not to take the field again after this incident. He said, “Just no more it’s enough for me and now I don’t want to umpire anymore. I also have some self esteem and I want to live with it. Umpires can make mistakes but if we are like this with us. There is no reason to do it again. I don’t do this work just because of money.”
