The smartphone manufacturing giant Vivo is set to launch its new V21 e5G in India soon. Currently, Vivo only sells the 4G variants of Vivo V21 in India. The device has been spotted several times online. The BIS mobile certification website tipped its India launch.

The Vivo V21 e5G will boast an 8 GB RAM and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, which is designed to bring 5G connectivity to low-cost smartphones.

The Dimensity 700 processor also powers other 5G enabled smartphones like Realme 85G and Poco M3 Pro 5G. The device is said to launch with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. It might also have an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication. Under the hood, the smartphone will run on Android 11.

The Vivo V21e 5G will reportedly be equipped with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 64-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. This setup is different from the 4G model, which offers 64-megapixel triple rear cameras, with the addition of a 2-megapixel macro lens. It will provide a 32-megapixel front shooter, compared to 44-megapixel from the Vivo V21e 4G variant.

The device should offer support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 5G, and a Type-C port for connectivity. The new details come from reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal via 91 Mobiles.

Earlier, the Vivo V21e 5G was allegedly listed on Geekbench and BIS-certified websites, indicating an impending launch in India. Vivo has not yet confirmed this development.

The smartphone is said to offer a 4,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging. The exact launch date and pricing details for the Vivo V21 e5G remain unknown. The Vivo V21e 5G was launched in Malaysia earlier with a price tag of 1,299 ringgits (approx. Rs. 23,000). The Vivo V21e 5G will likely sit below the Vivo V21 5G in India that was launched back in April.

The Vivo V21 is priced at Rs. 29,990 and has a Dimensity 800U SoC processor with a 64-megapixel triple camera setup in the rear and a 90Hz AMOLED display.

Vivo has recently started rolling out Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 update for its V15 model in India. Funtouch OS is Vivo’s custom UI skin based on the Android OS.
