Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases, the Tamil Nadu government has taken the decision to conduct the semester exams in online mode. The Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister, K Ponmudy, has announced that all the semester examinations at colleges across the state will be conducted in online mode.
However, he also announced that the semester examination for the fourth-year students will only be held in offline mode. He further added that the semester examination will begin on February 1, 2022, and will conclude on February 20, 2022.
School closure amid Covid-19
On January 16, the state government closed physical classes for students in classes 10 to 12 and announced that schools would remain closed till January 31. Earlier, the state government announced to close all schools from Classes 1 to 8. Only online classes will continue.
Tamil Nadu vaccine drive
The Tamil Nadu government has also announced a vaccination drive for 33 lakh children from 15 to 18 years old. The vaccination was decided to be taken at the respective educational institutions.
