Tata Motors hike prices of their automobiles: Read here

Tata Motors will increase the prices of its passenger vehicle (PV) range, which includes the Safari, Harrier, Nexon, Altroz, Tigor and Tiago, from May 8. While the price hike will vary according to model and variant, it will average 1.8 per cent.

The customers who have already booked a Tata PV or are going to book one today, will not be affected by the price hike.

The automobile manufacturer’s flagship vehicle, Tata Safari, is priced between Rs 14,69,000 and Rs 21,45,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Tata Harrier is available in the price range of Rs 13,99,500 to Rs 20,45,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tata Nexon is offered in the price bracket of Rs 7,09,900 to Rs 12,79,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Tata Altroz’s price starts at Rs 5,69,500 and goes up to Rs 9,45,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tata Tigor sits in the price range of Rs 5,49,500 to Rs 7,63,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tata Tiago’s price ranges from Rs 4,85,500 to Rs 6,84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

“Increase in prices of commodities, such as steel and precious metals, necessitates us to pass on a part of it through increase in price of our products. Keeping in mind the interest of customers who have booked cars already, we are offering price protection for all bookings done till date (on or before May 7, 2021),” Tata Motors PV Business Unit President Shailesh Chandra said.

“This price increase will be effective for bookings made thereafter (effective May 8, 2021). Our ‘New Forever’ product range continues to witness strong acceptance in the market and we are thankful to our customers for their continued trust in the brand,” he added.
