This newly launched BMW superbike can notch up to 0-100km in just three seconds

BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of the M1000RR in the Philippine market. The litre-class supersport model was launch in the Philippines at PHP 2,995,000 (Rs 45.55 lakh). The motorcycle is also available in the Indian market at Rs 42 lakh for the standard model and Rs 45 lakh for the Competition variant (both ex-showroom, Pan India).

Based on the S1000RR, the new M1000RR is the first M model from BMW Motorrad in India. The M model packs several upgrades over the S1000RR. The changes include aerodynamic improvements in the form of clear-coat carbon M winglets, a high windscreen, a revised chassis design, high-performance brakes, carbon wheels, a 6.5-inch TFT display with OBD interface, a lightweight battery, USB charging socket in the rear, powerful integrated LED light units, and heated grips. The Competition gets additional features such as GPS-lap trigger, passenger kit, a pillion seat cover, Carbon Pack, and M Billet Pack.

The M1000RR is powered by a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine with BMW ShiftCam technology. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 209bhp of power at 14,500rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 11,000rpm. The M1000RR gets revised components for the engine, an increased compression, and a lightweight titanium exhaust system. BMW Motorrad claims that the M1000RR can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.1 seconds while the top speed stands at 306kmph. The motorcycle also comes with a comprehensive, electronic rider aid package.
