The prices of TVS iQube, an electric scooter from TVS Motor Company, have come down significantly. The company on Tuesday said it has reduced the prices of its iQube electric scooter in line with the change in subsidy under the FAME 2 scheme. Recently, the Central Government had partially amended the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Stage 2 FAME India 2 scheme. After which the company has announced a cut in the price of its electric scooter.

The company has informed that the TVS iCube electric scooter has now become affordable by Rs 11,250. Now the price of this electric scooter in Delhi has gone up to Rs 1,00,777. Earlier its price was Rs 1,12,027. At the same time, its price in Bangalore has now gone up to Rs 1,10,506, which was Rs 1,21,756 earlier. The company said in a statement that the new price is in line with the recent announcement made by the government regarding changes in subsidy under the FAME 2 scheme. This will help in increasing the sales of electric two wheelers in the country.

Commenting on the revision of FAME 2 subsidy, Sudarshan Venu, Joint Managing Director, TVS Motor Company said, “We welcome the Government’s continued support to electric vehicles. Sustainable mobility solutions are very important for the future and TVS on this. Is investing a lot. Better incentives for electric two wheelers will increase its penetration. Such a policy direction should lead to indigenous development of future technologies.”
