Broadsiding Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav for what he dubbed as ‘naive’ comments on the GDP of Uttar Pradesh, the spokesman of state government and senior UP Minister Siddharth Nath Singh said that his ‘false’ narrative was figment of his imagination away from the actual figures.

” The State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP) of Uttar Pradesh stood at Rs 1288700 crore when Yogi Adityanath took over the reins of UP which grew rapidly to Rs 1705593 crore in 2020-2021 which accounts for 8.7 percent of the countries GDP and second only to Maharashtra, an achievement considering that the Yogi-led government had inherited from SP government what was a tale of depravity,” he said in a repartee on Friday.

He said not only this, the per capita income in UP also rose significantly in the last over four years despite the handicap of the Corona pandemic which impacted the economy globally.

Singh said that the economy of the state rocketed to new heights under CM Yogi as the investment in the state since 2017 had been a testimony of the fact that proactive measures of the state government brought in rich dividends. ” The UP Investor Summit in 2018 had MoUs of about 4.68 lakh crore out of which about 2 lakhs of the MoUs have already come on the grounds,” said the UP MSME minister while adding ” I m surprised how the person like Akhilesh can be so ignorant about the fact that it was during the Yogi regime that Uttar Pradesh made a quantum jump to rank 2nd in the country in Ease Of Doing business, a defined parameter of the conducive environment having been created for the investors.”

He said that the network of Expressways, development of new airports and employment generation even during the Corona times were for all to see. During last year’s Corona lockdown, the foreign companies made a beeline to invest in Uttar Pradesh with an investment of about Rs 50,000 crore. Zewar international airport, Proposed film city in Noida, Investment of Rs 50000 crore so far in the defence corridor are also some of the highlights which were conveniently ignored by the leader like Akhilesh Yadav who used to run his politics on issuing press releases from his cool comfort of drawing room without making tryst with the realities. He said that the Yogi government kept up its promise to provide four lakh jobs in various government departments during the four years with an achievable target of a total of five lakh jobs by the end of calendar year 20121.

” In the light of such achievements of the Yogi government under whom UP has become the favourite destination of the investors, the ‘irresponsible’ and ‘misleading’ statements of SP leadership amounts to nothing short of moral turpitude which are made only to create confusion and misguide the innocent people who have already rejected the caste and family-oriented politics of Samajwadi Party,” remarked Siddharth Nath Singh.
