3 days before the first-ever World Test Championship final against New Zealand, the BCCI announced Team India’s 15-member squad for the historic fixture. There was no surprise inclusion or exclusion in the squad as the team management picked its frontline players. Virat Kohli will be leading the team with Ajinkya Rahane as his deputy.

Kohli, Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and others form a strong batting line-up while R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are two spin bowling all-rounders. India’s strong pace attack consists of Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj. Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha are two wicketkeepers.

This squad is only for the ICC event and the benched players, including the backup players, can make it to the 15-member team during the five-match Test series against England. Today, we have a look at 5 players who failed to make the cut for WTC final –
