Lucknow: Lucknow Municipal Corporation on Wednesday restarted its community kitchen services to provide food packets to needy ones. The community kitchen was inaugurated by City Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia at community centre located in Jiamau, Gomtinagar. The civic body will soon start the service in other areas as well.
According to LMC officials, on an average civic body distributes around 35,000 food packets from its eight community kitchens on a daily basis. Apart from this, LMC has issued helpline number for each kitchen to receive orders to where to supply packets in a particular zone.
As per the details, civic body has hired around 120 workers 15 each for a community kitchen held with the responsibility of cooking and packing around 4,500 from their respective kitchens. Similarly, civic body has also deputed 21 mini trucks in order to distribute food packets all around the city.
City mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said, “Lucknow Nagar Nigam is constantly working for needy people in our city. We are serving high protein meal to needy ones to boost their immunity to fight Covid. “
