The Taliban have taken a heavy hold in Afghanistan and neighboring countries have become vigilant on Afghan borders to avoid this. It is being said that this has been done so that the terror of Taliban does not move towards Pakistan.

According to the Dawn newspaper report, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that Pakistan Army personnel have removed Frontier Constabulary, Lewis Force and other militias from frontline positions. The US and NATO are on the verge of completing the withdrawal of their troops from Afghanistan.

Ahmed said that FC Balochistan and other fighters working under the Ministry of Home Affairs have been withdrawn from border patrolling. He further said, “Now regular army personnel are deployed on the border instead of paramilitary forces. This decision has been taken in view of the situation of tension across the border.” Military spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar recently told a TV channel that Soldiers are monitoring the border so that the conflict there does not escalate from Afghan soil or airspace to Pakistan.

Here, Russia has also sent military equipment to the border areas between Tajikistan and Afghanistan to prevent potential threats. Tolo News has given this information. Indeed, Russia is concerned about the possible spread of instability to neighboring countries. Tajikistan is hosting more than 6,000 Russian troops at the 201st military base of the Russian Ground Forces. The base is one of the few Russian military sites on foreign soil. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier this month, “We will do everything, including using the Russian military base on Tajikistan’s border with Afghanistan, to prevent any offensive encroachment against our allies.”
