The Taliban have captured the country’s capital, Kabul, within a few weeks, rapidly expanding following the decision of US troops to withdraw from Afghanistan. After this, President Ashraf Ghani has fled the country and the Taliban have said that they have come very close to power after waiting for twenty years. The Taliban captured cities here one after the other. The governors of many cities surrendered themselves before him and his fighters did not have to fight.

Meanwhile, many countries are intensifying efforts to evacuate their diplomats and citizens from their embassies in Kabul. There is an atmosphere of chaos in the capital and people are trying to leave the country as soon as possible. Former President Donald Trump has demanded the resignation of US President Joe Biden, surrounded by all-round criticism regarding Afghanistan. He claimed that America’s exit would have been “very different and very successful” if he had been president.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Vice President Amirullah Saleh had left the country by Indian time late Sunday. On the other hand, the Taliban issued a statement saying that its fighters are officially entering areas of Kabul and taking possession of offices. After the Taliban took over and the Afghan President left the country, gunfire was heard in many places.
